A hands-on, heart-led educational workshop created by Learn & Grow in collaboration with 1001 Pawsies, introducing children to responsible cat care, animal behaviour and compassionate community action.

More Than a Cat Workshop
What Will Children Experience?
This isn't a classroom lesson about animals, children will learn with and around real rescue cats, guided by a qualified, experienced teacher. During the 90 minutes workshop, children will:Learn how to safely and responsibly care for stray and community catsExplore how cats communicate through their body language and behaviourLearn how to approach and interact with cats appropriatelyMeet and interact with 10 rescue catsConsider what animals need to feel safe, healthy and cared forTake part in an introduction to our 10-lesson Kind Paws Module
What Will Children Develop?
Kind Paws is about developing compassionate children.
Through real-life experiences, children are encouraged to observe, question, empathise and understand how their own actions can positively impact animals and their wider community.
It brings together animal welfare and meaningful, hands-on learning.This workshop offers a taster of Kind Paws, our 10-lesson educational module exploring animal care, behaviour, welfare, responsible community action and compassion.
The full module takes children deeper into understanding the animals we share our communities with and how we can make a difference.
Who are 1001 Pawsies?
1001 Pawsies is the children’s education initiative of non-profit animal welfare organisation 1001 Paws. Through engaging, age-appropriate experiences, Pawsies helps children learn about animal welfare, responsible pet care, stray and community cats, and the importance of kindness and compassion.
By connecting children with real rescue animals and real-life animal welfare work, 1001 Pawsies aims to inspire the next generation to create kinder communities.
