The same big ideas can be explored from Early Years through Primary and into Secondary, with the level of challenge, independence, subject knowledge and real-world application carefully adapted to each learner.

In Early Years, learning is playful, sensory, story-led and exploratory.

In Secondary, learning becomes increasingly independent, interdisciplinary and project-based, with greater emphasis on research, debate, leadership, enterprise and real-world challenges.

A single theme can look completely different depending on the age, interests and needs of the learner. A young child exploring Small Humans, Big Discoveries might build bridges, investigate magnets and hear stories about famous inventors. An older Primary learner might design a prototype and test different engineering solutions, while a Secondary learner could research an emerging technology and develop a solution to an authentic real-world problem.

Across all strands, learning can incorporate hands-on investigation, projects, discussion, research, creativity, outdoor learning, collaboration, field trips and real-world experiences.

Modules can be delivered individually or combined to create a bespoke interdisciplinary learning journey around a child's interests, developmental stage and educational goals.
